About Cat Food Price Comparison
Cat Food Price Comparison helps dog owners compare food listings by the number that is easiest to miss: the unit price. A large bag, a variety pack, and a small trial size can have very different shelf prices, so we normalize each listing into a cost per pound or ounce where possible.
The product grid is built from Amazon listing data and enriched product attributes, so you can compare price alongside the details that matter when shopping for a dog:
- Cost per pound or ounce: the main value metric for dry and wet food listings.
- Package size: a practical way to compare trial bags, standard bags, bulk bags, and wet food packs.
- Diet and health filters: protein, life stage, dog size, grain-free, sensitive stomach, limited ingredient, allergy-friendly, and other needs.
Our methodology
We believe that shoppers deserve to know the unit price, not just the price of the packaging. Because products use different sizes and pack counts, a cheaper shelf price may not be the best value.
We calculate our value index by:
- Reading current in-stock Amazon shelf prices from our product pipeline.
- Normalizing each package into a comparable cost per pound or ounce.
- Using enriched product attributes to power brand, form, protein, life stage, dog size, and health filters.
- Refreshing listing data regularly so price changes can surface in the comparison grid.
Note to shoppers: While we strive for 100% accuracy, prices, availability, formulas, and package sizes can change. Always verify the final details on Amazon before purchasing, and consult your veterinarian for diet-specific medical questions.
